A number of protests and solidarity marches will be held across Belgium in response to the ongoing Hamas-Israel conflict, which has killed over 1,000 people since the start of the Hamas attacks on 7 October.
In Brussels, Jewish groups will rally denouncing the kidnapping of Israeli civilian hostages by Hamas gunmen. The Secular Jewish Community Centre (CCLJ) said that it will organise an event in support of the families of those who have been kidnapped, urgently calling for their release. Over 100 Israelis are believed to have been taken to Gaza.
The exact location of the event has yet to be communicated due to security concerns. More information will be released by the organisers before the day of the event. In Antwerp, concerns have equally been raised over potential clashes or hate crime incidents in the city's famous Jewish Quarter.
On the same day, in Antwerp, pro-Palestinian supporters will hold a "solidarity action" in support of Gaza on Wednesday evening on central Antwerp's Operaplein, following the escalation of violence, which has displaced 120,000 Palestinians in the region, according to the UN.
