On Friday, the Walloon Government approved a draft decree approving a cooperation agreement with Flanders aimed at facilitating the mobility of workers between the two regions.
Jobseekers will now be able to have automatic access to job vacancies on either side of the language border, once their profile has been put online on the Forem or VDAB websites, according to a government press release.
Employers will also be able to call on Walloon and Flemish jobseekers in a simplified way. Greater attention will be paid to regions close to the language border, where mobility is most obvious for jobseekers.
In addition, the Forem and the VDAB have been tasked, in partnership, with analysing the labour market with a view to concluding a cooperation agreement that will specify the objectives and result indicators in figures.
They will also have to identify the obstacles to access to employment and set up a joint service for job seekers and companies to further stimulate inter-regional mobility.
