With temperatures dropping across the country, the Belgian high points of the country were layered with snow on Saturday morning.
In the eastern province of Liège, particularly in the High Fens, and in Luxembourg province, snow has made its first appearance of the year.
The first snowflakes were detected by the cameras placed by the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) at Mont Rigi and Saint-Hubert in the night between Friday and Saturday.

While these first snows will likely delight walkers admiring the landscape, we must remain patient for skiing activities.
According to the RMI, Belgians can expect further snow showers on Saturday in areas above 300 to 400 metres of altitude.
The high temperatures will range between 1 and 2 degrees in the High Fens.

There may be additional snow showers during the night from Saturday to Sunday.
With the variation in temperature between -2 and 2 degrees, a gentle accumulation of snow is anticipated.
Therefore, caution is advised when travelling, as certain sections of road may become dangerously slippery.
