The partnership between TikTok and Ticketmaster, which was launched last August, was only initially available in the United States. The option has now been extended to 20 countries including Belgium, RTBF reports.
Artists officially recognised by the platform will be able to include a link in their profile, leading directly to the sale of tickets for concerts or other events, such as comedy or sport, for example.
Over 2.5 billion videos that have opted for this feature have been viewed since the launch of the in-app ticketing function, according to the social media platform.
As well as Belgium, the option also now extends to the UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Spain and Sweden.
"This is an exciting time for the millions of passionate music fans in the TikTok community. By allowing fans to buy tickets directly on TikTok, we are giving artists the opportunity to reach ticket buyers in a whole new way and changing the game for live events around the world," declared Michael Kümmerle, Head of Global Music Partnership Development at TikTok.
"By bringing fans closer to the artists and events they love, we hope to bring more value to all artists at all stages of their careers and offer more opportunities to a growing fanbase. We look forward to seeing how our partnership with Ticketmaster develops over time."
