Footballer Kevin De Bruyne’s home in Bolderberg, Limburg was burgled over the weekend, local police and the public prosecutor’s office confirmed.

The burglars entered the villa using a ladder at around 9:00 pm on Saturday. Neither De Bruyne nor his wife, Michèle Lacroix, were home at the time. On her return, Ms. Lacroix found the house in disarray.

An investigation is currently underway.

Marijke Theunis, a representative of the Limburg public prosecutor’s office, confirmed the burglary. “At first glance, the house appears to have been thoroughly searched and thoroughly ransacked, and jewellery seems to have been stolen,” she said.

The total amount of the loss remains unknown, she added.
