Belgium was shrouded in a blanket of snow on Wednesday, causing major disruption up and down the country. Fortunately, the frosty conditions resulted in some picturesque scenes.

Due to the heavy snowfall and freezing rain in the south of the country, there was some disruption to train traffic. In other parts of the country, however, it was business as usual.

Brussels Airport warned passengers of possible delays due to the de-icing of aircraft and runways. On Wednesday afternoon, traffic was relatively normal but some flights were cancelled.
At Schiphol near Amsterdam, several flights were cancelled or delayed while in Germany hundreds of planes remain grounded due to the winter weather.
