The four-day Pukkelpop music festival has revealed its first two headliners for this year's edition: British artists Fred Again and Stormzy will both perform on the main stage on Friday 16 August, the organisation announced.
With his live dance music, Fred again.. is a British producer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ who became a global sensation in just a few years.
At Belgium's Rock Werchter festival last summer, 'The Barn' stage was far too small for the thousands of festival goers who wanted to see his live performance. Those who managed to get into the tent, however, made the floor bounce so hard that one of Fred's crew members had to hold his equipment steady so he could continue playing.
Now, he will perform on Pukkelpop's main stage, in the open air. "We now expect a small earthquake in front of our main stage," the festival organisation said.
Since his debut in 2017, British rapper Stormzy has been crowned 'King of Grime' and has played in Belgium several times before, both at Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop. This year, he will again perform on the festival's main stage.
Hailing from South London, Stormzy is a multi-award-winning musician and his three albums 'Gang Signs & Prayer', 'Heavy Is The Head' and 'This Is What I Mean' all topped the UK album chart.
Pukkelpop will take place from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 August in the municipality of Kiewit, just outside of Hasselt (Limburg). The festival will announce more names later this week.
