An explosive attack took place overnight Friday to Saturday in Antwerp’s Borgerhout district, with no reported injuries.
According to the Antwerp prosecutor’s office, an explosive device was detonated at approximately 00:15 in front of a residential building’s main door.
The graffiti "Kaai 1700", referencing a quay in Antwerp’s port known for being a drug transit point, was found tagged on the door.
Security personnel cordoned off the vicinity. Experts from the Defence Mine Clearance and Destruction Service (Sedee) and the police technical and scientific laboratory visited the site to gather evidence.
As of now, the prosecutor stated, they have yet to identify any suspects.
