The carcass of a she-wolf was found last Wednesday on a road in Eupen, reported by the Public Service of Wallonia (SPW) on Friday.
The discovery was made by the Department of Nature and Forests (DNF), on the same stretch where a member of the Northern High Fens pack was struck by a vehicle in September 2023.
At that time, it was a young male from the 2022 litter, according to SPW.
The she-wolf will be autopsied at the ULiège veterinary medicine faculty. Tissue samples have also been taken for DNA analysis to identify the individual.
