Bpost has signed an agreement to acquire the European logistics specialist Staci for €1.3 billion.

The deal will see Belgium’s national post operator obtain complete ownership of the French logistics company. Bpost CEO Chris Peeters is confident that the acquisition will leverage synergies, enhance the company's portfolio, and integrate seamlessly with existing capabilities. Peeters further states the move promises sustainable employment growth and enduring value.

Founded in 1989, Staci specialises in tailoring logistics and multi-channel distribution for businesses and its clients include companies in beauty and health, telecommunications, retail, food and beverages. With a network of over 80 warehouses across Asia, Benelux, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK and the US, the company employs 3,500 people and achieved a revenue of €771 million last year.

Should Bpost’s offer be approved, it is expected that Staci’s management team and entire staff cohort will remain. Staci’s current CEO, Thomas Mortier, is set to join Bpost’s executive committee and lead the new third-party logistics (3PL) business unit.

It is the largest acquisition for Bpost since 2017, when the public company spent $820 million to purchase US logistics company Radial.
