A driver crashed their car into a pharmacy garage on Sunday morning in the Flemish city of Antwerp, with the motorist's life now said to be in danger according to VRT NWS.
The accident occurred at around 05:00 on Dambruggestraat, when "the car ran off the road and landed with a loud bang in a garage of a building," the local police spokesperson Wouter Bruyns told VRT NWS.
The crash woke nearby residents who immediately called the emergency services. "Urgent medical care was needed for the driver, who was transferred to the hospital in critical condition," Bruyns added.
An investigation was launched after the fire brigade arrived to close the garage safely, with the circumstances that led to the crash yet to be determined.
