Safran Aircraft Engines is set to expand its engine maintenance site at Brussels Airport, creating 220 additional jobs.
The aircraft engine manufacturer and airport management announced on Thursday that they have signed an agreement.
The new industrial building will cover more than 11,000 square metres and will be dedicated to the maintenance of engine modules. It will be adjacent to the maintenance workshop that was inaugurated last June.
Safran and Brussels Airport Company stated that the ‘Module Factory’ will be operational from mid-2027. The expansion includes a recruitment plan for 220 people, bringing the total workforce on-site to 570.
This new facility will handle modules from various Safran Aircraft Engines maintenance workshops and is expected to reach peak activity by 2028, with 1,200 modules serviced annually.
