The Brussels Art Nouveau Art Deco (BANAD) Festival will celebrate 100 years of art deco from 15 to 30 March.

It will mark the centenary of the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, held in Paris, organisers announced on Thursday.

Sixty interiors, from places of worship and museums to artists’ studios and private homes, will be showcased, with some opening to BANAD visitors for the first time.

Notable sites include the Averbouch, Van Eycken, and Slagmolder houses, the former Electrorail headquarters, and the Orthodox Synagogue of Anderlecht.

Thematic walking and cycling tours will help visitors discover these treasures.

Additional activities include original lectures, inclusive and family-friendly programmes, an object fair, and a salon for restaurateurs and experts.

The ninth edition of the festival, organised by explore.brussels, will take place over three weekends (15 & 16, 22 & 23, and 29 & 30 March 2025) across three geographic zones within Brussels-Capital Region.

The line-up features about 60% art deco locations, 25% art nouveau sites, and 15% modernist buildings. Many renowned architects will be showcased, according to the organisers, including Jean-Baptiste Dewin and Joseph Diongre.

Tickets will be available from 4 February at www.banad.brussels, where the full programme will be announced on 15 January.
