Staff from the non-profit sector will demonstrate on the streets of Brussels on Thursday 22 May, union sources reported on Monday.
The action will be similar to that of 7 November last year, when approximately 30,000 workers from this sector marched in the capital.
Since then, "we have seen no progress," said Nathalie Lionnet, federal secretary for the non-profit sector at Setca. "We have received no answers on career endings, and women are particularly affected by the new government’s measures."
Last autumn, workers from industries such as healthcare, social aid, childcare, disability support, sociocultural activities, and education warned about a general personnel shortage. They say it is increasing the workload and creating unbearable conditions.
"This is a genuine public health issue," Lionnet emphasised on Monday.
The exact route of the 22 May demonstration is yet to be determined and will be discussed with the police.
