A man died on Saturday after receiving several stab wounds in the centre of Ixelles, according to the spokesperson for the Brussels public prosecutor, Martin François. The search for the perpetrator is ongoing.
The incident took place at 17:45 on Chaussée de Wavre in Ixelles, after which the victim was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.
An investigating judge has been appointed. “An investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances of the facts,” said François.

The paramedics had to force their way with the injured man through a small crowd of agitated people that had formed after the incident, while the police tried to calm the situation, Belga News Agency reports.
