In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a woman was seriously hurt in a car accident in the Brussels municipality of Jette.
Belga News Agency are reporting that, at about 01:55, a woman's car veered off the road on Avenue de l'Exposition in Jette and struck a tree.

When the Brussels Fire Brigade arrived on the scene, they had to cut through the car roof to free the driver, who was still trapped inside.
Despite being seriously hurt in the impact, the woman remained conscious during the procedure, and her life is not considered to be in danger, according to various reports.
