Have you taken the metro in Brussels recently and heard songs from Coldplay's latest album being played on repeat? Here's why the British band's music is being played across the capital city.
If you are taking the metro during the evening of Friday 5, Saturday 6 Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 August in Brussels, you may hear the latest songs from Coldplay being played in stations and the metros themselves. This is not a coincidence, but rather a way of marking the band's upcoming concerts in the city.
In the coming days, Chris Martin and co will be performing at the King Baudouin Stadium for four nights as part of the "Music Of The Spheres World Tour".
Aside from playing the band's music in stations and metro trains between 16:00 and 20:00 and after the performance on concert days, the band's frontman Chris Martin himself will surprise travellers with messages recorded especially for people taking public transport to the concerts, in which he thanks them for attending the concert and doing so in a more climate-friendly way.
When announcing the tour, the band said it has spent two years consulting with environmental experts to "make this tour as sustainable as possible, and, just as importantly, to harness the tour’s potential to push things forward."
Free transport to and from venue
Every concert ticket includes a code which allows the concert-goer to pick up a free return ticket for the STIB-network at a GO ticket machine, valid on the day of the concert. STIB will also be stepping up its transport services to and from the stadium, as thousands of attendees are expected.

"In order to cope with the expected influx of travellers and to enable fans to reach the concert easily on public transport, Metro Line 2 will be extended to King Baudouin (following the route of Metro Line 6) from 17:00 to past midnight.
Until 00:30, a metro will run every five minutes on the two lines, while metro lines 1 and 5 will also be reinforced towards the city centre between 23:00 and the end of the service, with a metro every 10 minutes.
