The entire STIB network will be accessible, free of charge, at night from 31 December to 1 January, allowing revellers to return home safely, the Brussels public transport provider announced on Thursday. Timetables will also be reinforced to cope with demand.
Metros and trams will run until 02:00, while the Noctis bus network will run until 05:00 with increased frequency. The network will be accessible free of charge from midnight until 05:30.
Nevertheless, the New Year festivities in Brussels will impact a few tram and bus lines, with routes either being limited or diverted. This New Year’s Eve, around 500 members of STIB staff will be working to keep Brussels moving.
