An intoxicated individual was left hanging from the entrance gate of the Parvis de Saint-Gilles metro station at around 04:50 on Monday morning.
The heavily inebriated man had to be taken to hospital after getting his leg caught "god knows how" says Walter Derieuw, spokesperson for the Brussels Fire Brigade.

He was accompanied by a friend who called the emergency services after his drunk friend became stuck. In a somewhat comical scene, the fire brigade managed to rescue him from the entrance gate.
Derieuw stated the man was very agitated and uncooperative during the rescue operation and whilst he was taken to hospital.
