A man (44) was seriously injured in a shooting on Sunday evening in the Brussels municipality of Schaerbeek, the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed.
The Brussels North Police Zone (PolBruNo) confirmed the incident on Monday morning. "Police were called to a shooting at a café terrace on Rue Joseph Brand, around 22:30 on Sunday," said spokesperson Audrey Dereymaeker.
When emergency services arrived, a man's life was in danger following gunshot injuries. Police notified the Public Prosecutor, who visited the scene with an investigating judge. The investigation into attempted murder was launched, the police will make no further comment.
RTL Info reports that a masked man allegedly approached the café and fired four shots at the victim, two of which hit his head, before fleeing the scene.
