Approximately 200,000 people marched through the capital on Saturday afternoon during Brussels Pride, an annual highlight for Belgium’s LGBTQIA+ community.
This was announced on Sunday by Visit.Brussels, which coordinated the event in partnership with RainbowHouse and the shopkeepers association from the Saint-Jacques quarter.
On Saturday afternoon, police estimated the number to be around 60,000.
The Pride theme this year was “Safe Everyday Everywhere,” advocating for a society where everyone, regardless of orientation or origin, can feel free.

According to police, there were no significant incidents during the day.

The city can be proud to be the capital of the "second most LGBTQIA+ friendly” country in Europe, according to the 2023 rankings from ILGA-Europe, the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association.
