On the eve of the kick-off of Euro 2024, taking place in Germany with the final on 14 July, the streets and surroundings of Brussels are set to come alive with various venues offering screenings of the highly anticipated matches.
The Brussels Times has put together a selection of some of the best places in Brussels to watch the competition. The first match starts on Friday evening with the German Mannschaft taking on Scotland in the Munich Football Arena at 21:00.
The Red Devils will take on Slovakia at 18:00 on Monday 17 June at the Frankfurt Arena, Romania at 21:00 on 22 June at the Cologne Stadium, and finally Ukraine on Wednesday 26 June at the Stuttgart Arena.
The atmosphere in the streets of the capital of Europe promises to be festive, not only with the Belgian fans known for igniting a good atmosphere on such occasions but also with Brussels' large expat community coming from all of Europe and beyond.
Since some matches will take place not so far from Belgium, many supporters will be travelling to neighbouring Germany to see the Red Devils, especially against Romania, which will take place close to the border in Cologne. But those who decide to stay home could benefit from the atmosphere too, with many bars offering special football evenings and some of the municipalities of Brussels setting up fan zones as they have done for previous competitions.
Uccle Fan Zone
One of the larger fan zones in Brussels is in Uccle. A large village, with a capacity of over 5,000 people, will be set up in the south of Wolvendael Park to show the Red Devils' matches on a big screen.

A variety of food-trucks, open-air bars and DJ sets will also be on hand to ensure a great atmosphere for the fans.

Place Dumon
With room for several thousand people, Place Dumon has "the biggest screen in Belgium," according to Woluwe-Saint-Pierre mayor Benoît Cerexhe.

The municipality is also planning to install food trucks on the site. Only Red Devils matches will be broadcast.

De Valera's
In this typical Irish pub, all matches in the competition will be broadcast. With 12 screens, De Valera's invites all football enthusiasts to join the celebration of the Euro 2024. The pub also serves food.

De Valera also offers to extend the evening after the end of each match, either to celebrate the victory or distract from the losses, with live music and karaoke.

Public House 12
Most matches, including all of the Red Devils' ones, will be on screen indoors and outdoors (depending on the time of day and the weather) at Public House 12.

Crossing Schaerbeek Stadium
With a capacity of over 3,000 people per match and two giant screens, this small stadium wishes to welcome football fans from all over Europe (and beyond) to support their favourite team during the Euros.

A host of activities and entertainment will also be on offer, including teqball, 3-on-3 street soccer and DJ entertainment.

The Football Village Brussels
From Sunday 16 June onwards, the Football Village Brussels will attracts a large crowds, including expats. This year, unlike previous years, it will be held at the Fox Food Market.

With a capacity for about 300-400 fans, it is one of the only fan zones that will be showing most of the matches, not just Belgium. Food and drinks will be available.

Wiener Foot Village
The Wiener Foot Village will broadcast every Red Devils match on a large screen, as well as another match on the same day on. The venue has a capacity of 3,000 people.

Although admission is free, places are limited, and you can reserve a place for €6 to ensure you get in.

The Wild Geese
Wild Geese is another Irish pub that will show every match live on screen inside but also outside.

Café Caberdouche
Café Caberdouche, with its large terrace in the heart of Place de la Liberté, chose to show 12 of the 36 matches of the group phase on their big screens, including all Red Devils' ones. The bar will also be showing all the knockout matches.
