Police appeal for witnesses after fatal Brussels-Midi shooting

Police are seeking witnesses to help locate the suspect or suspects responsible for a fatal shooting in Saint-Gilles on Wednesday night.

Police are particularly interested in video footage that may help clarify the events before, during and after the shooting.

The incident happened just before 1:00 am on Thursday, outside the Astoria café on Rue Argonne. Two people, a 44-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman, were killed, and three men aged 31, 42, and 49 were injured.

Two of the injured remained in critical condition on Thursday afternoon while the 31-year-old was said to be in a stable condition.

As part of their investigation, the police are appealing for any surveillance video and witness accounts.

They are specifically asking anyone who may have observed suspicious actions or witnessed the event on Rue Argonne to get in touch with their local police services via the email address avisderecherche@police.belgium.eu or the free phone number 0800/30.300.
