A man was shot and injured in a café near Brussels-Midi station on Wednesday evening, the local police zone reported on Thursday. The victim's injuries are not life-threatening.
"Just before midnight on Wednesday evening, our police teams were contacted about shots fired in a café on Rue Brogniez," stated a police spokesperson.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his shin. No one else was present in the café when police arrived. The victim was taken to hospital, but his condition is stable.
The circumstances of the incident remain unclear. The Public Prosecutor's Office has been notified, and an investigation has been launched.
