A shooting injured one person in Anderlecht on Friday night, the Brussels-Midi police zone confirmed on Saturday.
A fight broke out at around 02:30 between two individuals known to the police for drug use, a spokesperson told Belga News Agency, confirming news first reported by BRUZZ.
The incident occurred in a residential building on Rue Commandant Vander Meeren. The victim was shot in the leg.
The suspect fled the scene after the altercation but returned at around 07:00.
Special units from the Midi police and the neighbouring police zones apprehended the individual at around 09:00. A helicopter was also deployed.
The incident is not believed to be connected to recent disturbances near the Aumale metro station.
