Police discovered large quantities of drugs and weapons in the Matongé gallery on Monday.

A largescale operation in the Matongé gallery on Chaussée de Wavre, Ixelles led to the discovery of the drugs and weapons on Monday afternoon.

However, no suspects were apprehended, the Brussels police reported on Wednesday. With the help of other security teams in the zone, they searched the entire gallery using a sniffer dog.

This quickly resulted in significant findings, such as drugs hidden on the roof, behind door frames and in bags of clothing.

In total, police found approximately 818 grams of cannabis, 85 packages of cocaine, 42 grams of cannabis resin and four ecstasy pills.

They also discovered pepper spray, an airsoft gun, ammunition and a firearm with a magazine.

All items were seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
