For the third anniversary of the Russian invasion, Brussels will host ‘SLAVA’ – a club night fundraiser for the LGBTQ+ community affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Created in collaboration with three Slavic promoters, SLAVA is "a rallying cry for the fight for freedom, peace and solidarity."It is inspired by the stories of over six million Ukrainian refugees who cannot return home.
This year, the event will be held at Brussels nightclub C12 on Friday 28 February, starting from 23:00 and ending in the early hours. The line up is divided by Ukrainian artists Daria Kolosova, Catmint, Tweeman and Alis. They will be joined by Belgian artists Stanislawa, Henry Keller and Propaganda Drag Collective, who are hosting the night.
"All profits generated from the event will go directly to trusted aid organisations in Ukraine, supporting queer communities affected by the war," organisers said in a press release. "We are confident in their mission to make a meaningful difference through this initiative."

Last year’s edition raised €10,000 in support of Ukrainian LGBTQ+ organisations and a Palestinian refugee housing project in Brussels – which organisers says highlights the event’s dedication to diverse communities in need.
As part of the pre-event activities to spread the message, all the headliners will make special appearances on Kiosk Radio and GIMIC Radio in Brussels.
The organisers are Deep Down East, Veselka Kyiv, and Zaika. They are all Belgium and Ukraine-based leaders in music and Queer events, and have joined forces which promote diversity, inclusivity, and cultural exchange.
Veselka Kyiv is considered one of the first and biggest queer techno collectives in Ukraine, organising events across Europe (Berlin, Helsinki, Prague and Kyiv).
Zaika is a well-known Antwerp queer collective, organising parties in the city for over 4 years. Deep Down East organised successful events such as "Rave Against Fascism" during their year-long residency at C12 Brussels.
