There was another shooting in Anderlecht on Sunday night, Le Soir has reported. No one was injured.

The incident occurred at around 02:00 at Place de la Vaillance next to Saint-Guidon metro station, following four other shootings in Brussels in recent weeks.

However, mayor of Anderlecht Fabrice Cumps (PS) says "there is no indication at this stage that this is linked to the rest [of the shootings]. The investigation is ongoing."

Neither the Public Prosecutor nor the police have issued statements.

Saint-Guidon metro is located close-by to Aumale metro station, one of the 16 designated "hotspots" subjected to increased police surveillance.

Of the four shootings in the past two weeks, two have occurred at Clemenceau metro station. The second on Saturday killed one 19-year-old man.

Previously, a shooting took place in Saint-Josse-Ten-Noode. Another occurred in Peterbos, killing one person.
