Children will be able to travel from Brussels to Berlin or Prague for just €25 each way during the Easter holidays on the European Sleeper night trains, the company announced on Tuesday.

On weekdays from Monday 14 April to Friday 2 May, children aged four to 11 years old will be able to travel for €25 in a compartment with couchettes. They must always be accompanied by someone aged 18 or over. Children up to three years old always travel free of charge, but without their own bed or seat.

"Our train from Brussels and Amsterdam to Berlin and Prague runs three times a week," said European Sleeper. "Departure on Monday, Wednesday or Friday evening from Belgium and the Netherlands. Return from Czechia and Germany on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings."

Journeys from Brussels to Berlin leave at 19:22 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and are scheduled to arrive at 06:16 in the German capital the next day. Those staying on the train to its terminus in Prague will arrive there just before noon (11:24).

Return journeys leave the Czech capital at 18:02 on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and arrive back in Brussels the next morning at 09:27. Those only getting the train in Berlin, will be picked up on the way at 22:56.

The compartments – in which a maximum of five people can travel – have seats during the day, but they can be turned into recliners at night. Additionally, each compartment has a large folding table for drinks, food or board games, for example.

For family holidays, these five-people compartments can also be booked completely, to turn them into private compartments (starting at €299.99).
