Police have arrested Pierre D. (50) suspected of murdering two people in Kraainem. He was charged by an investigative judge on Saturday for murder, Belga News Agency reports.

Pierre D. had a relationship with one of the victims, Magali W. but the two had broken up. Magali W. and her daughter Coline (17), were both stabbed to death, probably during late Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, the suspect is denying the charges against him.

According to Belga, the suspect himself alerted ambulance emergency services on Thursday evening when he was supposed to have discovered a pool of blood at the entrance hall of the victims’ house in Aneecylaan in Kraainem.

The bodies of the two victims were subsequently found, both showing signs of brutal wounds of "unprecedented aggressiveness" carried out by knife stabbings.

The victims' mobile phones were gone as well as Magali’s car, but no other signs of a house break-in were seen.

The investigative judge suspects the victims died between the night of Wednesday and Thursday. The young daughter, Coline, was not present at her school, the Institute Don Bosco in Woluwé-Saint-Pierre. Neighbours also heard a loud argument from the house on Wednesday night at 2:00 AM.

The man meanwhile denies he was in the house during that night and says he passed it at a friend’s place.

Neighbours describe the newly formed household as a “model” family in various local media. According to Magali W.’s former partner who is the father of Coline, Pierre D. and Magali W. had recently decided to separate.
