The City of Brussels will implement new parking rules beginning Sunday 1 May in an effort to balance resident and visitor parking.
With parking in the city a notoriously difficult affair, the City of Brussels is now hoping to reduce congestion with a new parking plan divided into four zones (blue, green, grey and red), Le Soir reports.
What the colours cost
In the blue zone, parking is free for everyone but limited to a maximum of two hours and with a clock disc. In the red zone, parking is free for everyone and also limited to two hours.
In the grey and green zones, parking is charged except for residents and professionals.

Haren and the upper part of Neder-over-Heembeek will become blue zones from this Sunday, and the Emile Bockstael square will become a red zone.
For the first resident card, the price remains unchanged at €10 per year. But for a second vehicle, residents will have to pay €110 per year instead of €50.
Households can also now receive up to 10 free visitor cards per year.
