The authorities have detained the man who allegedly attacked someone with a butcher's knife in Brussels Gare du Midi train station earlier this week and is charged with premeditated battery and assault.
On Tuesday morning, a young man (17) was attacked seemingly out of the blue by a man with a knife in the train station. Images show how the attacker cut and stabbed his victim several times.
The teen was injured, but his life is not in danger. Shortly after the incident, an 18-year-old suspect was arrested. According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the incident occurred "in the context of a former conflict between the two parties."
