The fan zone of Brussels' Royale Union Saint-Gilloise was broken into by around 40 people late on Thursday evening, BX1 reports.

Only minor damage to the premises was reported, but one person was injured. A spokesperson for the Brussels-South police zone told Bruzz that the break-in was most likely perpetrated by RSC Anderlecht fans.

At around midnight, the police were called out to the Marien Stadium over reports that the fan zone had been raided by a grou 30-40 people. Around another dozen people had gained access to the clubhouse.

One person was injured during the break in, losing two teeth. The rival fans damaged furniture, broke windows, and forced open a door.

According to the police, the suspects managed to flee before they could be captured by police. They will attempt to identify the hooligans through CCTV footage.
