Brussels singer Angèle and Italian phenomenon Mahmood have jointly announced a duet to be released on Friday 8 March. The announcement comes after a long absence of new singles for the Belgian star.
Since the re-release of her album Nonante-Cinq (La Suite) in 2022, Angèle has kept a low profile on the music scene without any new releases. However, the absence will come to an end this week.
She revealed that she would be releasing a new song on Friday in collaboration with Mahmood, who has twice represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest – a joint announcement that sparked much enthusiasm among fans.
Mahmood posted on social media that the track has an Italian-French title: 'Sempre/Jamais' ('Always/Never') and added that the single will be available on streaming platforms from Friday.
"Thank you, Angèle for writing this song with me. I love you, I can't wait," he wrote, in both Italian and French. At the end of his post, he added a small "1/3," suggesting that at least two other messages will serve as teasers until the song is released in the next few days.
This announcement comes just over two weeks after Mahmood released his new album 'Nei letti degli altri' on 16 February. His second single, 'Tuta gold', won him fifth place at the Sanremo festival a month ago.
Angèle has kept a relatively low profile since the start of 2024, after 2023 was marked by her Nonante-Cinq Tour. When questioned by Sudinfo, the press officer for her record company explained that her silence simply reflected her need to rest.
