Registration for Belgium's biggest participative sporting event – the Brussels 20 km run – has temporarily closed for individuals due to high demand. Groups can still apply to take part.
Just two weeks after registration opened on Wednesday 13 March, organisers of the event, which brings together tens of thousands of runners in the Belgian capital, announced that the first part of the numbers pinned to the runner's vests for the 44th edition of the 20 km through Brussels had been sold out due to "people's enthusiasm".
"This means individual registrations are temporarily closed," the statement read. However, those who have not yet registered will still be able to do so in early May when the last numbers are released. People taking part in groups can also still register here.
The number of participants has once again been capped at 40,000 people. After raising the sign-up fee by €3 in 2023, organiser S.I. Brussels Promotion (SIBP) has kept the ticket price at €28 (the same as last year).

The starting shot will be given at 10:00 on Sunday 26 May, and the run will begin from Parc Cinquantenaire as usual. The route – considered one of the most scenic in the region – will take participants all around the capital, passing by scenic areas and monuments, such as the Royal Palace, and parks including Parc Royal and Bois de la Cambre.
As has been the case in recent years, not only runners but also walkers and people with disabilities can compete.
