Economic growth in the eurozone has been revised upwards to 0.9% for 2024, from a previous estimate of 0.7%, according to Eurostat’s third estimate published on Friday.
In the European Union (EU) as a whole, GDP grew by 1.0%.
The European statistics office also revised GDP growth for the fourth quarter upwards to 0.2%.
This was an increase from the initially reported zero growth announced at the end of January, then slightly revised to 0.1% in mid-February.
For the European Union, growth reached 0.4% in the last quarter of 2024.
In Belgium, growth was 0.2% in the fourth quarter of 2024. This matches the eurozone average but falls below the EU average.
