The defence ministers of the so-called 'coalition of willing' countries, Ukraine's allies, will meet again on Thursday 10 April, AFP has reported.
Defence Ministers will meet in the European capital to set up future security guarantees for Kyiv in the event of a ceasefire, according to the French Defence Ministry.
France and the UK are leading the meeting, which follows Thursday's summit of some 30 European countries in Paris.
The increased diplomatic activity comes as Washington, which is determined to secure a ceasefire, is seeking rapprochement with Moscow, raising fears among Europe and Ukraine that an agreement could be reached behind their backs.
Paris and London are proposing to send troops from the coalition countries to Ukraine to form an "insurance force" that would help prevent a resumption of the conflict after the ceasefire has been negotiated.
No unanimity expected
French President Emmanuel Macron acknowledged on Thursday that there was no unanimity on the proposal.
He announced that a mission of French and British chiefs of staff would be sent to Ukraine in the coming days to prepare in particular the size of the Ukrainian army, which he said remains "the main security guarantor" for the country.
The Thursday meeting of defence ministers comes ahead of another one, also in Brussels, of the Contact Group Coordinating Military Aid to Ukraine (UDCG), the French Defence Ministry said.
