Ilir and his brothers arrived in Brussels after fleeing the war in Kosovo. They started a new life running a friterie at Chaussée de Louvain 503 in Schaerbeek where they faithfully follow the Belgian recipe for making perfect fries.
The place was eventually voted the best fries shop in Brussels.
It’s a friendly spot where you can sit down with a portion of fries in a paper cone. The list of burgers is truly European, with French, Spanish, Italian and Nordic versions, as well as a Brexit burger.
They also have a small branch with takeaway fries at Chaussée de Boondael 362 in Ixelles.
