Salah Abdeslam's lawyer has confirmed that her client is filing a complaint to the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office. He alleges that an officer punched him while in detention, causing injuries to the inside of his mouth.
As announced during the ongoing Brussels terror attacks trial on Tuesday, Abdeslam's complaint marked another controversial development in the trial, which is taking place at the Justitia site.
On Wednesday, Abdeslam alleged that an officer punched him in the mouth during his transfer to the courtroom.

His lawyer then demanded for a doctor to see her client so that a verdict could be reached on the extent of his injuries. The following day, Abdeslam announced that he would remain in his cell until a verdict in the trial was reached.
Defendants have alleged various incidents of mistreatment at the hand of the Belgian police, particularly in their transfers to and from court.
