Freezing weather and heavy snowfall across the UK have caused major disruptions at London's main airports, with numerous flight delays and cancellations on Sunday evening and Monday morning.
Stansted Airport, located 61 km north of London, tweeted on Monday morning that although the airport "remains fully open and operational... the continued cold weather may still impact your journey". Passengers were urged to contact their respective airlines for further information.

More than 50 flights were cancelled at Heathrow Airport, London's main airport, on Sunday. While there have been some reports of lengthy delays and long queues on Monday, a Heathrow spokesperson has suggested that the airport is currently "flowing better and doing well".
Similar disruptions have been reported at Luton, Manchester, and London City airports.
The snow and ice have also led to traffic being heavily congested on the main roads outside London, while rail passengers were also experiencing major delays and cancellations on Monday morning. Some London underground lines were also disrupted.
