The personal locker of late basketball legend Kobe Bryant is up for sale at an auction organised by UK auctioneers Sotheby’s.

The locker, bearing a nameplate of the basketball superstar, is expected to fetch between $1,000,000 and $1,500,000. It was used by Bryant in the LA Lakers dressing room before his tragic demise in a 2020 helicopter crash at the age of 41. It  is currently owned by Franco-Israeli and Moroccan billionaire Patrick Drahi.

With seven days until the end of the auction, the highest bid stands at €700,000.

In addition to Bryant’s locker, Sotheby’s sports auction includes a football shirt of the late World Champion Diego Maradona. The shirt, which came from the former Argentinian footballer’s collection, had been gifted to former Belgian goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff.

Sotheby’s estimates the shirt’s potential value at $1.2 million.

Since Bryant’s passing, numerous memorabilia from his career have been auctioned. Last year, a shirt worn by him fetched around $5.8 million.
