Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson on Wednesday conceded victory in Sunday’s parliamentary elections to the right-wing bloc, after almost all votes had been counted.
The bloc of three right-wing parties and the far-right Swedish Democrats “has a small majority, but a majority nonetheless,” the politician said.
Speaking at a press conference, Ms. Andersson announced her resignation, which she will officially tender on Thursday.
According to near-final results from more than 99 polling stations, Ulf Kristersson's right-wing bloc won 176 seats against 173 for the Andersson-led left-wing bloc, with only results from a few polling stations outstanding.
