The German music group Rammstein is facing fresh accusations of inappropriate sexual behaviour.

In an interview published by German newspapers NDR and Süddeutsche Zeitung, two women have accused the band’s keyboardist, Christian “Flake” Lorenz, of sexual assault.

The first woman accuses the musician of sexually assaulting her at his property in Brandenburg in 2002, when she was 17. Till Lindemann, the band’s lead singer, was also allegedly present and made her drink alcohol.

A second woman explained that she woke up naked on the floor of a hotel room the day after a concert in 1996. Her stomach felt “like it had been ripped open.” However, she no longer remembers what happened during the night.

The band’s lead singer has also been accused on several occasions of inappropriate sexual behaviour during parties organised after concerts. In June, the German Public Prosecutor’s Office opened a criminal investigation against him. The artiste denies all the accusations.

Last Saturday about 300 people protested in Berlin against the band’s staging of concerts in the German capital.

Rammstein is currently on tour in Europe, but no more after-concert parties are being organised. The band will perform three times at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels in August.
