Humans are not alone in the universe, and the authorities are concealing evidence of the existence of extraterrestrials, including the debris of an unidentified object, a former intelligence officer told a US congressional committee on Wednesday.

David Grusch said he was “absolutely” convinced that the United States was in possession of a UFO, now designated an “unidentified anomalous phenomenon” (UAP) by US authorities, and even the remains of its operators.

“In the course of my duties, I was informed of a multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and reverse engineering programme to which I was denied access,” he said. He added that he had decided, based on the data he collected, to share the information with his superiors and several members of the Inspector General’s office and to become a whistleblower.

Pressed with questions during Wednesday's hearing, the whistleblower said he could not give any further details in public as this was classified information. He said the US government has been withholding information from the public, but also from Congress, and that he had been able to “personally” interview individuals who had direct knowledge of the existence of the off-world flying object.

His testimony, he said, was based on information given to him by individuals with a known record of legitimacy and service to the USA. Many of them, he added, had shared compelling evidence with him, in the form of photographs, official documents and oral testimony covered by secrecy.

The former military intelligence officer was being questioned, along with two former pilots who claim to have observed anomalous phenomena, by a House of Representatives committee focusing on national security issues.

Republican congressional representative Tim Burchett threw his support behind the three men, saying it was time to lift the veil of secrecy over the case.

Asked about the possibility of extraterrestrial life, the spokesman for the National Security Council, which is attached to the White House, said on Wednesday that he had no position on the issue.

“We believe that there are unidentified anomalous phenomena that have been raised and reported by Navy and Air Force pilots,” John Kirby said. “We don’t have the answers on what those phenomena are.”

The head of the Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) had said in April that no signs of extraterrestrial activity had been identified. “AARO has found no credible evidence thus far of extraterrestrial activity, off-world technology or objects that defy the known laws of physics,” Kirkpatrick Sean Kirkpatrick had said.

The US government is taking these phenomena seriously, however, and NASA recently called for greater efforts to study them scientifically, as did the Pentagon, which is concerned about possible… Chinese espionage activities.
