Nightclubs will not reopen in the very near future, much to the disappointment of the Brussels by Night Federation, which represents the sector.
“We were expecting a reopening date, a prospect, but we did not get one,” Federation spokesman Lorenzo Serra said on Friday evening in an early reaction to the decision by the Consultative Committee to keep the establishments closed.
Commenting on the Coronavirus barometer, scheduled to become a reality on 28 January, Serra said his organisation did not yet have a view on the mechanism, which is expected to make health measures meant to curb the spread of the virus more predictable. “We do not yet have any view on this barometer,” he said. “We’ll have one tomorrow, without a doubt, but it’s hard to react this evening.”
“We are calling for the nightlife to be restarted as quickly as possible with a framework,” Serra added.
