Any decision to lift a series of Covid restrictions on Friday should also signal a rapid withdrawal of the Covid Safe Ticket (CST), says MP Benoît Piedboeuf (MR).
The CST imposed last year on the hospitality and events sector "was useful in persuading people to take vaccination but it's clear that it needs to be phased out because it no longer really does what it was supposed to given that virus transmission cuts across it," he told Bel RTL radio.
Piedboeuf said that the night-time industries should also be revived as soon as Friday, when Prime Minister Alexander De Croo has already signalled that the level of restrictions will almost certainly drop from the current 'red' to orange.

Piedboeuf said that there should be a "margin" to move beyond the "rigour" of the so-called barometer, and also suggested that unless the disease caused by contracting Covid becomes more severe, the idea of mandatory vaccination should be dropped.
