Austria first country in EU to introduce nationwide Covid-19 vaccine mandate

Austria has become the first country in the European Union to authorize a nationwide Covid-19 vaccine mandate. The mandate was signed into law by President Alexander Van der Bellen, and will be in effect until 31 January, 2024. Citizens will reportedly be fined up to 600 euros for being unvaccinated.
