The United States announced on Friday that it has approved the possible sale of bombs, munitions and missiles worth $7.4 billion to Israel, which has used US weapons in the Gaza Strip conflict.
The arms deal includes the sale of bombs, guidance kits, and rockets worth $6.75 billion.
Hellfire missiles valued at $660 million are also part of the agreement.
This information was provided by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency, which said in a statement that proposed sale was consistent with the US objectives regarding Israel.
"The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to U.S. national interests to assist Israel to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability," the Agency stated. "This proposed sale is consistent with those objectives."
