Belgium were beaten by 2-0 by Morocco in their second match in the World Cup. The 'Red Devils' have now made it difficult for themselves and will have to be at their best in their final group game, against Croatia on Thursday, to reach the round of 16.

"We are not yet the best Belgium," Martinez admitted in a press conference after the game. "Before the first goal was conceded, I thought we played better than against Canada. Afterwards, we didn't react well. We were too emotional and tried to equalise without thinking.

"We were not ourselves with the ball. The players are overwhelmed by the responsibilities they carry, they must dare to play freely and find the pleasure of playing. We have to succeed in doing that against Croatia."

Compared to the first match against a spirited Canada, Belgium's coach, Martinez, chose to make three changes in his starting eleven, aiming to stabilise the team's defence. The Red Devils had more control over the game but did not create enough chances in front of the Moroccan goal.

"We started the game well and had control but we did not create enough chances. After the break, we gave them a free kick and conceded a goal. After that, we were too emotional to come back," Martinez said.
