Leandro Trossard’s curling goal against Poland in the Nations League (6-1) has been chosen by internet users as the Red Devils goal of the year 2022, the Belgian Football Association (RBFA) announced on Saturday.
Following a corner, Trossard – who plays for Brighton in the English Premier League – linked up with Carrasco, and struck the ball into the top corner of the Polish goal from the edge of the box, to make it 4-1 in the 80th minute.
Leandro’s beautiful strike beat the likes of Leander Dendoncker’s powerful shot which found the goal from long range in the same match, Michy Batshuayi’s half-volley in the FIFA World Cup against Canada, and Kevin De Bruyne’s well-placed goal against Wales in the Nations League.
